Nokia’s Back, But Not With Microsoft: Features A $26 Basic Phone Inclusive Of Nokia’s Famous Snake Game [VIDEO]

Finnish phone brand Nokia has once again set off with their new phone models, which was revealed last Tuesday by its new manufacturer: HMD Global. The Nokia 150 and the Nokia 150 Dual-SIM were unveiled as feature phones.

HMD is a startup based in Finland, Nokia's new manufacturing partner and was chosen to make phones bearing their name. These are the first Nokia phones not made by Microsoft. HMD has promised to produce a new Android-based smartphone by the first half of 2017, as well as a new website for Nokia feature phones. However, the first handsets they unveiled are pretty much not what they have promised at first.

Press releases are more often about the phone's top specs to compete with its competitor phones. But it's not the case for HMD --- at least, not yet. While HMD mentioned that they have been busy working on Nokia smartphones that run on Android OS, they still released Nokia 150 and Nokia 150 Dual-SIM --- featured phones that can't even connect to the internet, but long-lasting, very affordable, and easy to use.

On a brighter note, HMD said that their budget-friendly phones will have 2.4 inch screens, physical keypads, an FM radio, an MP3 player, games (including the well-loved Nokia game, Snake), and a camera with LED flash. The phones will also have Nokia's signature long-lasting batteries --- 31 days of standby time for Nokia 150. Aside from that, it has Bluetooth connectivity and microSD card slots where you can store pictures and music.

It's worth noting that HMD pointed out that these feature phones are the answers to consumers' demand for quality, affordable, and easy-to-use devices, according to CNET.

In regards to producing cheap phones for developing markets wherein SMS text messaging still rules over data usage, Nokia is well-known for this. The feature phones are set to be released worldwide within the first quarter of 2017.
