The internet is currently brimming with all sorts of speculations surrounding the next generation of Microsoft Surface Pro, which is rumored to arrive in spring next year.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to boast an array of jaw-dropping specs and features, offer more internal storage, and include the much-lauded Surface Pen. The 4K-capable hybrid tablet will hit the store shelves sometime in May 2017, if rumors running rampant online proved to be true.

The predecessor of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been deemed as the best tablet currently up for grabs in the market; in fact, the Surface Pro 4 even outperformed Apple's iPad Pro. Surface fans have been clamoring for a Pro 4 successor, which some tech pundits believed would be unveiled during Apple's October event. But much to their dismay, that wasn't the case.

Rumors doing rounds online attribute the delay in Microsoft Surface Pro 5's release to changes in the device's processor. Presumably, the Surface Pro 5 will be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake processor, which is slated to be released next year as well.

Aside from pushing the Microsoft Surface Pro 5's release date back, the Redmond-based tech giant has reportedly postponed the upcoming radical changes for the Windows 10 OS.

Under the hood, the Surface Pro 5 will pack 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device will run on an updated Windows 10 operating system. Thanks to a 4k PixelSense display, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to have a higher battery uptime as compared to its precursor. If these speculations come to fruition, as NeuroGadget believes, this 2-in-1 detachable tablet will put the lid on Notebooks on a global scale.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that Microsoft could equip the Surface Pro 5 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

In addition, the device will enable a full Windows 10 operating system to run on ARM-based processors. There's also a possibility that the Surface Pro 5 could feature the Windows 10 Redstone 2 OS, according to LearnBonds.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be comparatively quieter than its precursor, thanks to a core processor that requires less power. The device will also sport USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports. The Surface Pro 5 will come bearing a price tag of $899.
