New BlackBerry Z10 Images And BBM Video Calling Feature Leaked

Jan 13, 2013 11:30 AM EST

New images and video have leaked of RIM's BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. The latest leaks show off two color choices and a short video of BBM Video Calling.

RIM is expected to show off the Z10 at its BlackBerry 10 media event on Jan. 30. The smartphone is an all-touch device running the company's next-generation OS, BlackBerry 10. We have only seen leaks of the device appearing to show the smartphone in an all-black model, and the latest leak indicates RIM is going to follow Apple's move of offering two color choices of black and white smartphones.

The BlackBerry maker is hoping that carriers and consumers once again will regain confidence in its smartphones and mobile operating system. BlackBerry 10 is widely viewed as the do-or-die OS of RIM, and the company is hoping its new OS and smartphones will appeal to customers who are currently torn between an iPhone or Android-based smartphone.

Luckily for RIM, the biggest four network carriers in the U.S. - Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile - have all pledged support for BlackBerry 10, promising to launch BB10-based devices at launch. Whether this will translate into consumers actually purchasing the devices is another story, but it's a promising sign, nevertheless.

Rapidberry.net also posted a short video showing BlackBerry Messenger's Video Calling feature in action. It's a very short video but give you the idea of how the feature will work when it's unveiled by RIM on Jan. 30.
