Verizon Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 Update Leaks Ahead Of Release

Feb 06, 2013 09:35 AM EST

U.S. carrier Verizon has not officially released the Android 4.1.2 for its Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE customers, but the update has been leaked and is available for download via XDA Developers.

"Due to the multiple requests, after several days of work and various testing, I have created a working guide for public use limited to only a few steps. This is a guide that will help you flash a 99% stock factory image for the official Jelly Bean leaks for Verizon Galaxy S III overwriting every partition on the device to stock," noted the XDA Developers forum.

Furthermore, XDA Developers forum added "The ONLY major change I have made is for your convenience it keeps all your data/apps/settings and internal storage partition in tact. In addition to that I have also provided a small mod in the image that allows the following options below as optional flashes."

The leaked variant of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean comes with VRBMA2 firmware, which means that the leaked ROM comes with all its stock features except for the Premium Pack by Samsung. The Verizon build of Android 4.1.2 has leaked ahead of AT&T or T-Mobile and hints at a possibility of Verizon releasing the official version soon.

Some of the enhancements the new software update brings are the Multi-Window View feature, Page Buddy, new Gallery app (like the Galaxy Note 2), a customizable Notification Panel, disabling of brightness in Notification panel, inputs in Samsung Keyboard (like Swipe), Paper Artist app, Smart Rotation, and Group Cast app for media sharing.

If you are a Verizon Galaxy S3 LTE owner, will you go ahead and install the leaked version from XDA Developers or wait for the carrier to release the official version?
