Though many devices are still in the process of receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, others like Nexus 4 are already enjoying the Android 4.2.2 experience. When 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system update arrived recently, Google did not release an extensive changelog. However, Android users have reasons to cheer as they can now check out the Jelly Bean 4.2 features in the detailed official changelog.

Google has published its official changelog for its Android 4.2.2 update that includes all the new features available to Android users. The updated changelog would be a great help for owners of Android device as they can analyze what have changed since 4.1 update and the changes are clearly marked with a 'New' tag in red.

The detailed changelog has segregated the improvements and additions into many categories, listing out the new features since the last Android 4.1 update. The features listed in the categories include Networking, Camera and Gallery, Graphics, Settings, Lock Screen, Internationalization, Keyboard, Accessibility, Messaging and Talk, Phone, Clock, System, Google Search and Google Now. "Although the latest update is still Jelly Bean don't be fooled into thinking 4.2 is a minor upgrade as there are many changes and improvements listed," Phone Review reminds the users.

"Under Google Apps you'll also find new features listed under the categories of Calendar, Gmail, Maps, Google+, Chrome, Google Play Music and finally Google Play movies. Remember these are just the sections that contain new changes for 4.2 since 4.1.," the report said.

Some of the notable updates include a completely redesigned camera app with new tools, Photo Sphere that enables 360-degree image capture, full HDMI reflecting notifications and multi-display support and a new clock avatar with digital or analog style. It also includes a slew of minor updates which were not previously touch on like augmentations which would improve Wi-Fi Direct support, faster captive portal detection, a new Gesture keyboard, group messaging support via MMS, new voice search and more.
