Yes, you read the title right. HTC has confirmed that it will upgrade a bunch of its older models in the HTC One series such as the first full-HD Butterfly, One X+, One X and the One S, with its new Sense 5.0 UI. HTC had recently revealed its flagship device 'One' on Feb. 19 with an overhauled Sense UI.

The confirmation came as a response to a Facebook query when HTC assured a user that it will release a few upgrades to some of its existing devices in the coming few months.

Here is the full text of HTC's confirmation on its Facebook page:

"HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. Also, note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates."

However, as mentioned, the upgrade does not include all of Sense 5 features because some of the new features are exclusively made for the HTC One.

Yes, it's true that the above statement lacks clarity as it does not mention about the Sense 5.0 UI anywhere. However, the folks at Android Police have received an official confirmation from HTC that the aforementioned devices - HTC One X, X+, S, and Butterfly will be receiving Sense 5 in a future software update.

It's indeed a great news for HTC fans as the shiny new Sense 5 Android interface would reach many of the its later high-end devices. Sense 5 user interface features a home screen called as BlinkFeed that improves and simplifies the device's overall UI.

For those unaware, HTC unveiled 'One X' and 'One S' as part of its high-end duo in the One series running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4. The Taiwanese smartphone maker offered Sense 3.6 on some of its older devices which brought in a few slight modifications to the Sense 3.5 version. HTC later released Sense 4, which came pre-installed on its devices.

The recently released flagship HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch 468 ppi 1080p Super LCD 3 display, 1.7GHz Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 600, 2GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory and its signature Sense 5.0 UI. The NFC-enabled device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and has a 2,300mAh battery.
