The much-touted Oppo Find 7 is finally official, debuting as the first smartphone to rock a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display.

After a few months of teasing its new Oppo Find 7, the company has officially unveiled the powerhouse in Beijing on Wednesday, March 19. As expected, the smartphone will be available in two variants - Standard and Premium - with high-end specs and features.

Oppo Find 7 Specs

The Standard version comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage capacity expandable via microSD, among other things.

The Premium model, meanwhile, boasts the same 5.5-inch screen but with a 2560 x 1440 resolution (QHD), at a whopping pixel density of 538 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection and will work even if your hands are wet.

Other specs of the Premium Oppo Find 7 include a top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, coupled with a hefty 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics. This version comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity, as well as a microSD card slot for additional memory.

The new Oppo Find 7 further comes with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor with an F/2.0 lens and LED flash. The camera can record 4K video and 720p slow-motion video at 120 frames per second (fps), or take 10 photos and merge them into a single 50-megapixel image via the Super Zoom mode for the best possible image. A 5-megapixel front shooter, meanwhile, will allow for high quality video chats or self-shots.

The QHD version of the Oppo Find 7 packs a larger 3,000 mAh battery, while the Standard model comes with a 2,800 mAh battery. Oppo has also touted a new technology that is capable of charging the battery to 75 percent in just 30 minutes.

On the software side, the new Oppo Find 7 runs ColorOS 1.2. Oppo has also announced that it made an agreement with the Bank of China so Find 7 users can make NFC-based payments in more than 250 POS-enabled retail locations. Both the Standard and the Premium models are LTE-enabled.

Oppo Find 7 Pricing & Availabilty

The QHD model of the Oppo Find 7 will cost 3,948 CNY, i.e. roughly $565, while the full HD version will cost 2,998 CNY, which translates to about $480. The full HD version goes on sale on Thursday, March 20, while the higher-end QHD model will hit commercial availability sometime in May or June.
