LG G3 Mini leaks for AT&T, specs include 720p display and 8-megapixel camera
Alexandra BurlacuAs rumors about the highly-anticipated LG G3 are picking up steam, an LG G3 Mini now seems to be in the cards as well according to leaked documentation.
While not even the flagship LG G3 is confirmed at this point, the rumor mill is nonetheless churning and now some documentation has surfaced regarding the LG G3 Mini, revealing the device's model number and some of its specifications.
GSM Arena has published documents for a handset with model number LG D725, which is expected to launch as the LG G3 Mini. The device bears the "B2 mini" codename, while the LG G3 is codenamed the "B2." The leaked documentation lists the B2 Mini as the LG D725 and details a few specifications, although nothing is for certain at this point.
LG has just launched its LG G2 Mini, which makes it rather early for its successor to arrive already, especially since not even the LG G3 is official yet. On the other hand, lots of devices leak online ahead of their official debut, so this may turn out to be the real deal.
According to the leaked documents (see above), the LG G3 Mini will sport a 720p display, but its size remains unknown at this point. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera with still shots of up to 3264 x 2248 resolution, and the handset will reportedly launch with Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board, as well as LG's own Optimus UI on top. The leak shows the AT&T version of the smartphone, but the LG G3 Mini, as well as the flagship LG G3, is expected to hit all major carriers in the U.S.
The LG G3 is expected to make its official debut sometime in July, launching as the company's flagship smartphone for 2014. The flagship will reportedly hit AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint with model numbers LG D850, VS985 4G, LG D851, and LG LS 990. It remains unclear at this point when the LG G3 Mini would launch, but it may arrive shortly after the flagship.
As always in such cases, however, it is highly advisable to take all leaks, rumors, and speculation with a grain of salt until official confirmation.
