Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime leaks with premium metal build as the Galaxy F
Alexandra BurlacuRumors of a top-notch Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime have been making rounds for quite some time, and now a leaked press render of the smartphone has popped up online.
Before the current Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship made its debut, a number of rumors hinted toward a more premium smartphone, claiming that Samsung would finally let go of its love of plastic and launch a more stylish metal handset. The Galaxy S5, however, launched with the same polycarbonate build, albeit a slightly different design, to the disappointment of those hoping for a more premium metal build.
Soon after, the rumor mill started churning about an upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime version, which would launch as a higher-end model that would finally ditch the plastic body in favor of metal. That version was also referred to as the Galaxy F, and it now seems that Samsung may choose to launch the premium version of its flagship under this moniker.
Well-known and trusted tipster @evleaks has now posted a press render of this purported Galaxy F, or Galaxy S5 Prime. As you can see in the image above, this model sports a stylish brush metal finish.
In addition to the more premium build material, the Galaxy S5 Prime, or Galaxy F, is also expected to boast several improvements over the original flagship, including a 5.1-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Other upgrades over the original Galaxy S5 will reportedly include a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, an Adreno 420 graphics processing unit (GPU), and 3GB of RAM. No changes are expected in the camera department, which means that the prime model will likely feature the same cameras as the original Galaxy S5.
It's all in the rumor state for now, as Samsung has yet to confirm anything in this regards, but previous rumors hinted toward a June launch for this premium Samsung Galaxy F, or Galaxy S5 Prime. If those rumors prove to be accurate and the handset is indeed slated to make its debut this month, we should hear more about it soon enough. In the meantime, however, take everything with a grain of salt.
