Motorola offers customized Moto X two-week trial for $0.01 on June 9
Alexandra BurlacuAs part of a new one-day promotion, Motorola will allow interested fans to customize a Moto X and try it out for two weeks, for just $0.01.
If you've been curious about the Moto X, but not curious enough as to actually purchase the device, Motorola's upcoming promotion may be the perfect solution. For just one penny, you'll be able to build your Moto X through Moto Maker and customize it to your heart's desire, and Motorola will ship it to you so you can try it out for two weeks. This offer will be available on Monday, June 9, while supplies last.
This new one-day deal comes after several other promotions Motorola held for its Moto X. Most recently, the company offered a two-day deal allowing users to buy a no-contract 32GB Moto X for $100 off the normal price.
The Moto X is not the highest-end smartphone out there, as it comes with mid-range specifications on board. The smartphone has nonetheless stirred lots of interest when it launched not only due to its very neat functionality, but also because it offered unprecedented and unparalleled customization options.
Until the Moto X, having a customized smartphone generally meant choosing your favorite color and configuration from a few available options, Motorola allowed users to customize their Moto X to a far greater extent. Through Moto Maker, customers are able to choose from over 2,000 possible combinations to customize their Moto X so it's perfectly suited to their tastes.
While some rumors suggested that Motorola's recent Moto X promotions are a sign that the smartphone is not doing very well, they could also mean that the company is looking to clear Moto X inventory to make room for the next iteration. Motorola is expected to launch a Moto X+1 smartphone soon, which will reportedly arrive this summer and boast a full HD 1080p display.
The current Moto X, meanwhile, sports a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage capacity, a 10-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,200 mAh battery. On the software side, the handset comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, but it's already upgradeable to the very latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
If you're curious about this smartphone and would like to give it a shot, this one-cent promotion may be just what you need. As previously mentioned, the deal will only be available on Monday, June 9, so save the date.
