Check out the Moto 360 in Motorola’s latest teaser (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuMotorola is again teasing its upcoming Moto 360 smartwatch, which will launch later this summer with Google's new Android Wear on board.
The much-touted Moto 360 has caught the world's attention due the fact that it sports a neat round design, as opposed to most other smartwatches that come with rectangular form factors.
Motorola had already said that it would launch its Moto 360 later this summer, yet some enthusiasts still hoped to see the device debut at the Google I/O 2014 developer conference. Google introduced its new Android Wear OS at the event, along with two launch vehicles in the form of the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live. While both of these smartwatches already went up for pre-order and are slated to arrive on July 7, Motorola's Moto 360 was MIA.
The I/O crowd was disappointed when Google announced that the Moto 360 won't be arriving until later this summer, but Motorola has nonetheless posted a new demo video the following day, on June 26, showing off its upcoming smartwatch.
The two-minute trailer aims to give the world a better look at the round-shaped Moto 360, showing off the different faces of the device, as well as how to handle notifications and more. The teaser video also shows how the gadget's display will work.
Much like the LG G Watch, the Moto 360 will also boast an always-on display. When not in use, this display will dim down just enough as to not draw too much power, but still allow the user to view the time. Tapping the screen or pressing a button on the side will wake up the display from its dimmed down state.
The video further demos some neat Android Wear features, showing off how cards, voice recognition, and notification works, as well as other things. The Moto 360 smartwatch from Motorola will initially make its debut with a small range of available watch faces, but the company will add more options after launch. Motorola has still not mentioned any pricing or exact availability details for the Moto 360, but it's expected to come in the same price range as the recently-launched LG G Watch ($220) and Samsung Gear Live ($200).
We'll bring you more details as soon as they become available, but in the meantime you can check out the video below to see the Moto 360 in action.
