iPhone 6 goes up for pre-order on China Telecom, press render details specs
Alexandra BurlacuApple is widely expected to take the wraps off its next-generation iPhone 6 on Sept. 9, but China Telecom has nonetheless started taking pre-orders already.
The iPhone 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year, and at least one model is expected to make its debut next week, on Sept. 9. While nothing is official just yet, Chinese carrier China Telecom has already started taking pre-orders for the device ahead of the big launch.
As TechCrunch first pointed out, China Telecom has a pre-order page in place, showing rendered images of the iPhone 6. The page in question further shows some specifications for the device, which most likely come from unconfirmed leaks and rumors.
Apple is widely expected to launch two iPhone 6 models, one with a 4.7-inch screen and the other with a larger 5.5-inch display, but the general belief is that only the smaller model will debut on Sept. 9. Consequently, it's no big surprise that China Telecom lists the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 as available for pre-order. The page also mentions a pixel density of 416 pixels per inch (ppi) for the device, which would translate to a resolution o 1704 x 960 pixels at a 4.7-inch screen size.
One render further shows an Apple A8 processor and a Touch ID fingerprint reader, both of which have been rumored to grace the iPhone 6. The same image also lists a 2,100 mAh battery for the device, which has also been rumored before.
It's worth pointing out that China Mobile also started taking pre-orders for the next-generation iPhone 6 earlier this week and saw more than 33,000 orders in just a few hours, suggesting great demand for the device.
The iPhone 6 is expected to boast great improvements over its predecessor, but no specs and features are officially confirmed at this point. With Apple's Sept. 9 event just around the corner, however, we'll soon get the real scoop straight from the source. It remains unclear at this point whether the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will make its debut at the same time, or whether the much-rumored iWatch will also launch at the event next week as some rumors claimed, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.
