The new Moto X (2014) is due to launch today, Dec. 10, on Republic Wireless, and the carrier is slashing $50 off for 24 hours.

The second-generation Moto X launched earlier this year stirred plenty of interest since its debut, as it boasts notable improvements in all aspects compared to its predecessor. While the original Moto X grew popular thanks to its unprecedented customization options, but packed mid-range specs, the new iteration combines both high-end specs and high customization options for a better combo all around.

Not too long ago, Republic Wireless announced that it will start selling the new Moto X (2014) on Dec. 10 for $399 off-contract, which was already quite a big discount over the smartphone's regular off-contract price of $499. The carrier now has an even better deal in tow, as it is slashing $50 off the price of the handset in a 24-hour sale.

In other words, the new Moto X (2014) will cost just $349.99 without a contract from Republic Wireless, but the deal is only good for Wednesday, Dec. 10, starting at 8AM PT/ 11AM ET. Come Dec. 11, the smartphone will be available for $399 off-contract.

Interested customers can get the discounted smartphone either directly through Republic Wireless' website, or through Moto Maker. The smartphone appears with a $399 price tag, but the $50 discount will be applied at checkout.

It's worth pointing out, however, that Republic Wireless may be selling the new Moto X (2014) off contract, but that doesn't mean you will be able to use the smartphone on another network. Republic Wireless is an MVNO, meaning that it works slightly different from other carriers. If you purchase the Moto X from Republic Wireless, you'll have to use it on its network.

With that out of the way, interested customers can find the second-generation Moto X (2014) on Republic Wireless at this link. The smartphone still appears with a "Coming Soon" label at the time of writing, but it will go live with an "Add to Cart" option at 8 AM PT/ 11AM ET.

Lastly, the carrier said that promo codes some users got from Motorola on Cyber Monday will not work with any purchase through its store or Moto Maker. The $50 discount for the new Moto X will be applied at checkout, but this offer cannot be combined with other promo codes.
