Here’s how Windows 10 Spartan web browser allegedly works with Cortana (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuAn intriguing new video just popped up online, showing how Microsoft's new Spartan web browser works with Cortana in the desktop.
Officially announced back in January, Microsoft's new Spartan web browser will be built into the latest Windows 10 operating system. Spartan will not replace Internet Explorer, it will come as an alternative with impressive features and capabilities.
Spartan is not yet available in Windows 10 preview builds, but Microsoft revealed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 that it will include the new browser in the next build, expected to come later this month.
Windows 10 will also bring Microsoft's digital assistant, Cortana, to the desktop, making it the first assistant of its kind to go beyond the mobile realm.
"A new web experience for Windows 10 - Code-named 'Project Spartan,' the next generation browser was built with greater interoperability, reliability and discoverability, with a new look and feel built just for Windows 10," Microsoft announced back in January. "Advanced features include the ability to annotate by keyboard or pen directly on the webpage and easily share with friends, a reading view that is distraction free, displaying the article in a simplified layout for a great reading experience for Web articles online and offline, and the integration of Cortana for finding and doing things online faster."
The folks over at WinBeta have now posted a neat video of a Windows 10 build, showing how Microsoft's new Spartan web browser will work with Cortana.
Cortana will deliver relevant bits of information based on one's inbox, calendar, and searches, and this leaked video also shows how users can type in queries for Cortana in the browser by right-clicking on a word and selecting "Ask Cortana."
The video further shows that Cortana will be discreetly available from the sidebar, so users can easily access it whenever necessary.
As previously mentioned, the next Windows 10 build is expected to arrive later this month, and will finally include Microsoft's new Spartan web browser. For now, however, check out the video below to see how Spartan could work with Cortana. As always, take all leaks with a grain of salt.
