Google's new phones are said to be hard to obtain in Australia, but today the long wait is over because Huawei's Google Nexus 6P smart phone is now available in Australia. Nexus 6P is about the same size as the iPhone 6 Plus, but it has a v2.0 USB type-c 1.0 reversible connector/port that can charge the device 2x faster. It has a non-removable Li-Po 3450 mAh battery. It has three different variants, the 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models. It is available in three colors - Aluminum, Graphite, and Frost.
The phones available in Australia for now seem to be only in Graphite and Aluminum. On top of this, the only ones available in the Australian Google Store, for now, are the 64GB models. However you can still buy the 32GB models online, although it is mentioned that the product will be set to leave Google's warehouse by November 2, and will be on hand by November 6.
Google Nexus 6P has a specific dimension of 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm or 6.27 x 3.06 x 0.29 in. It weighs 178 g or 6.28 oz. It features a fingerprint sensor and can be fitted with a nano-sim. The display screen has about 71.4% screen to body ratio, or is 5.7 inches in size. It has a corning gorilla glass 4, oleophobic coating for protection. It runs on Android OS, v6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810. It runs on Adreno 430 and Quad-core 1.55 Ghz Cortex-A53 & Quad core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57. It features a network with GSM, CDMA, HSPA, and LTE.
Google Nexus 6P has an internal memory of 32, 64, or 128 GB with 3 GB RAM. The primary camera is 12 MP, 4608 x 2592 pixels, with laser autofocus, dual LED flash while the secondary camera is 8 MP, 720@30 fps. It is capable of running videos at 2160p@30fps. The camera also features 1.55 µm pixel size, with geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. The sound features of Nexus 6P includes a 3.5mm jack, with loudspeaker and front stereo speakers; and has a vibration, mp3, and wav ringtones for its alert types. Nexus 6P also include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band Wi-Fi direct, DLNA, hotspot for WLAN, a Bluetooth of v4.2, A2DP, LE plus it also has NFC with GPS, A-GPS, and GLONASS. (Credits to GSMArena)
Nexus 6P also boast of having additional features such as accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer sensors; sms threaded view, mms, email, push mail, and im messaging; a HTML5 browser; an active noise cancellation with dedicated mics; MP4/H.264 player; MP3/WAV/eAAC+player; photo/video and document editors.
Though there are limited options, it remains to be seen whether it would be as popular and accepted in Autralia as it has in some countries. Also released shortly today is the Nexus 5X which is smaller in size compared to the Nexus 6P.
