Introducing “Pura Scent”: Controlled By A Smartphone, Brings Scents And Pheromones To You
Mary Cris BalancioThese days, smartphones have become one of the "must haves" of any individual. And tech companies, as well as third party app companies, have been scrambling to create accessory apps to make smartphones useful in more ways than one; or in most cases, to have one app over their competitors.
One gadget-run app that is recently gaining attention fills someone's home with pheromones. Yes, that's right, pheromones - a substance or scent that triggers a response from the opposite sex.
This latest app is on the Kickstarter campaign made by Pura Scents. Pura Scents is being marketed as the smart air freshener; it is just one of the few smart somethings that is trying to join the app-controlled bandwagon. The Pura Scent module can be plugged into a standard wall outlet and has two chambers that can contain two scents.
Once the product is loaded with the user's chosen fragrances, the release of each scent can be timed and controlled using a smartphone with the necessary app. This helps the user control and choose which scent they would like use and for how long. Pura Scent's makers claim that this would be the first ever smart air freshener in the world.
The makers are also marketing how the device can be used to release "pheromones" through their fragrances in their "scents for him" line. This line will have fragrances that contain the pheromone androstadienone or derivative adrostenol. It is being marketed as a scent that can help set a positive mood for a women's sexual response. Pura Scent said that they are exploring options on developing a similar line for women. For now, Pura Scent offers 15 fragrances categorized as floral, fruit, comfort, and the men's line.
For now, Pura Scent makers are asking for pledges from everyone to support the release and production of their product. For those interested, an early bird pledge comes with a dispenser and two fragrances for only $58 USD, £38 GBP, or $81 AUD. The next price once the limited early bird offer is gone will be at $69 USD, £45 GBP, or $96 AUD. Pura Scent also comes with a built in night light with customized colors and a USB port. Product shipping will start on June 2016.
