LG Unveils Their Latest “Ray” Smartphone
Mary Cris BalancioLG just unveiled their latest mid-range smartphone or phablet and it is scheduled to be released before 2015 ends or early next year. The latest from the Korean tech company is the LG Ray smartphone.
The latest handset from LG has a body dimension of 152.5 x 76.4 x 9.3 mm or 6.00 x 3.01 x 0.37 in and weighs 158 g or 5.57 oz. It comes with a 5.5 inch display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 and a 267 ppi density. It is said to be a dual-SIM type of phone.
LG Ray will be running at a 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592M octa-core and a Mali-450MP4 GPU. It comes with a 1 GB RAM and a 16 GB internal storage that is expandable via a microSD. It will be powered by a 3000 mAh removable battery.
The handset will also be sporting a 13MP primary rear camera with autofocus and LED flash that can support 4128 x 3096 pixels. It also has an 8MP secondary front facing camera. The smartphone is said to come with a couple of awesome features like having "Gesture Shot" for taking pictures and having the "Knock Code" for unlocking the phone.
The latest model will also be run by Android v5.1 Lollipop but eventually, like other Lollipop run smartphones, it might be at the list of those models that are set to get the latest Android 6 Marshmallow update which is yet to come.
It will also be supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and microUSB v2.0 in terms of connectivity. It is noticeable though that LG Ray only supports 3G connectivity and not 4G LTE which is seen to be becoming more prominent with the latest models that has been released. This might be a drawback and a disappointment for some.
But according to LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company President and CEO Juno Cho, the company continues to see customers in the 3G markets as their priority. Every LG consumer will receive a unique experience through a balance of design, performance, and value.
LG Ray will be first released in Germany and is said to be priced at б15,000 RUB or about $225 USD. It will be coming with three color variants which are silver, gold, and titan black.
