Stikbox: The Transforming Smartphone Case “Selfie” Stick
Mary Cris BalancioSince selfies became a trend, a lot of apps and devices have been changed to have them adapt to this functionality. Cameras were improved, apps were developed and new products were created. The most popular product out of this buzz would have been the selfie stick. The stick-like smartphone holder was created to satisfy consumers' need for a better selfie and more angle positioning than what one can do if he is holding his device at arm's length.
The problems with carrying a selfie stick are how long it is and how bulky it is when one brings it to a company outing or a casual strolling in the park or a usual friendly gathering. And that is what the latest casing selfie stick is all about. The smartphone casing looks just like the ordinary casing for your devices that conveniently turns itself into a selfie stick when needed. Imagine a selfie stick without the irritating bulkiness when traveling.
The brilliant selfie casing stick is called Stikbox. It hides a 28-inch-long selfie stick at the back of a user's handset. The brilliance of this accessory is that unlike its predecessors, it has been considerably shrank in size, making it easier to travel, and there is no inconvenience in having to carry two separate devices just so one can have his selfie shots.
Stikbox has telescoping aluminium segments that are created to fit the back of a consumer's smartphone, hiding it in plain sight while also allowing it to be connected to the device. This way the user manages not only to bring a selfie stick to where he is going but also to avoid spending time fumbling for the stick to connect it to his handheld device and instead focus on creating as many selfies as he can using that time.
The latest accessory is currently on a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. To help with its production or to have one, users are encouraged to visit the Stikbox Kickstarter page. It is available for $29 USD for pledgers and will have a regular price of $44 USD if the campaign ends up successfully. There are seven color choices-blue, white, black, red, green, purple and pink. It also comes with a separate Bluetooth remote control.
Currently, the latest selfie stick is available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s only. But if the campaign becomes successful, the creators of Stikbox might just create a version of it for other iPhones and Android, Blackberry and Windows devices as well.
