Dual Camera System Patent By Apple Exposed?!

Dual Camera System Patent By Apple Exposed?!

Multimedia is one of the attractions that manufacturers always try to up the ante each time they produce their latest mobile phone model. From sizes to features, one can see that each time it is one of the developed parts of a mobile phone.

That is especially true for Apple whose successful smartphone considers its camera one of its biggest strengths. But just because it already has a nice camera doesn't mean it is stopping at that. As it appears, the Cupertino company has just applied for a new patent application that suggests that it would like to enhance its cameras more and take it a notch higher.

The patent application is speculated to be for a dual camera system that will be placed on the back of a smartphone. The idea with this is to provide its users a way to zoom in images without losing the quality of the image.

One of the angles being checked here is the idea that one camera will have a wide lens while the other one will be having a deeper focal length. With this in mind, the user is given the freedom to switch between the two lenses without having the image lose resolution as opposed to a situation when one does the digital zoom instead. However, this is just one way on how the patent can be interpreted.

The patent can also be interpreted through a 3D camera, one 3D-enabled camera and one normal or standard camera, but this possibility is a bit on a negative side as the tech company needs to create a 3D screen too to be able to view the images that are taken using a 3D camera.

Another speculation on how the dual camera might be used is that one of the lenses will be used to take pictures or stills while the other one will be used for taking videos. Another possibility will be the lens shooting at different resolutions or different speeds.

Whatever the final uses are of the cameras, we will just have to wait because so far the dual camera service that Apple is planning is still a patent application. And like most of the patents that have been filed and approved, not all move on to get to the manufacturing stage; some just stop at the testing stage, and that seems to be the end for them. So let's just stay tuned for the next announcements from Apple.
