‘Doom’ Review: ID’s Software Makes Excellent Comeback
Shilpa ChakravortyAlthough gamers around the world have been excited about the recent version of "Doom", certain critics mentioned that it is almost like the 1994 version, except with a twist.
Generally, the game doesn't need an introduction, because it was really popular approximately three decades back. Back in 1994, "Doom" had a simple setup, with a not - so - simple gaming interface. However, the present version of the game did make a couple of changes to the game making it easy for everyone to enjoy the awesome features of the game.
In the present version of the game id has made it easy for gamers to switch between two primary weapons while playing, as they stress on the point of clarity and responsiveness of a game. For example, gamers can acquire the legendary BFG and the chainsaw, and use them individually or even launch a combo of both, according to Eurogamer.
Additionally, certain weapons, if used properly can provide gamers with a resource tool also. For example, the chainsaw can be used to carve out not only flesh (for protection), but also ammunition from the dead. These abilities in turn help the gamers on higher levels. Thus, the correct choice of weapons makes it easier for the gamer to complete the level with ease.
The newest version of "Doom" also includes new weapon mods, which needs to be unlocked by completing complex challenges. Each of the mods are guarded with a robot drone. Although some of the drones hover over the main path, yet some are tucked away in side and attack the gamers suddenly.
One of the best features of the recent version of "Doom" is perhaps the fact that it has maintained a careful balance between the series' standard and evolution, according to Hardcore Gamer. This has helped the gamers to enjoy both, the flavor of "Doom" and have some extra features while being in game.
Thus, for gamers who want to enjoy fighting off alien invasions, while being on planet earth, the "Doom" can be considered an effective choice for the same.
