The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, is all set to take a giant leap into the virtual reality arena via the launch of its much-anticipated smartphone, One Plus 3. The CEO of the company, Carl Pei, recently confirmed the news that the new smartphone range will be launched via a Virtual space reality station environment. For this purpose, the company is reported to have introduced Loop VR headset, so that the event can be watched in virtual reality zone.
Carl said in a blog post that the company is trying its best to take its imagination to a new level with the introduction of the new Loop Virtual space station, reported NDTV. The co-founder of OnePlus also wrote a formal invitation in the blog post and called out to all the buyers to check the new concept once.
IB Times reported that the Pei invited OnePlus 3 potential customers to buy the Loop VR Headset, which has been made available for free on the company's website. He also urged the buyers to hurry up as the stock was limited i.e. he stated that only 30,000 Loop VR headsets would be available.
Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that it is not the first time that the company is toying with a new marketing campaign concept to launch its device. The company's previous flagship smartphone, OnePlus 2 was also unveiled in a similar VR fashion, where the customers were allowed to look around OnePlus offices in a 360-degree view.
In addition to all the Loop VR headsets and space station talks, few reports have claimed that the company will give first preference to all those potential buyers of OnePlus 3 who have already ordered the Loop VR headsets, reported First Post.
The latest reports suggest that the entire Loop VR headset lot have already been sold out and there is no official news as to whether the company will again sell the headsets available or not. It is also reported that, in India, the Loop VR headset would be made available from June 1 to June 7 on Amazon website.
GMS Arena reported that the new OnePlus 3 smartphone is expected to release in two variants with different RAM and storage capacity. It is reported that the 32 GB variant will include 4 GB RAM and will be available for $314 while the 64 GB variant will consist of 6 GB of RAM capacity and would be priced at $384. The OnePlus 3 is also rumored to feature a 5.5-inch screen with Snapdragon 820 chipset. It will also consist of a 16MP rear camera and 8 MP front-facing camera.
The OnePlus 3 launch event on the Virtual Space station is expected to be held in June.
