New 'Final Fantasy XV' Trailer Features Chocobos in Action

Developer Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV on Tuesday, and it showcases one of the franchise's most beloved characters, Chocobos!

Square Enix has dropped a new trailer featuring the lovable iconic bird. The two-minute clip shows the yellow beast in all its feathery glory, sprinting across the terrain and galloping through the fields with main protagonist Noctis at its back. The video also showed the whole gang hanging out, each having their own chocobos. The chocobos can also be seen holding its own ground on the battlefield, helping the group fight enemies along the way. The trailer is accompanied by the classic Chocobo Theme, and caps it off with the chocobos riding into the sunset.

Everybody loves chocobos. From mounting them to racing with them, and even travelling with them as one of the game's characters (like Boku in Final Fantasy V or the majestic Angel of Valhalla in Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns), the chocobo has become a classic staple in the Final Fantasy franchise. The chocobo even has its own video game titles, like Chocobo Racing and Chocobo's Dungeon.

The Chocobos in Final Fantasy XV, however, are nothing like players have ever seen before. They sprint, fight enemies, and even drift, as shown during the recent Final Fantasy Uncovered event.

The trailer also showed off more of the game's amazing environment, which was showcased in a separate "World of Wonder" footage released last week.

Fans have been waiting for this game for a long time, and with everything Square Enix has shown so far, it looks like the wait is definitely worth it.

The game is set to be showcased at this year's E3, and fans are eagerly waiting for more updates and revelations about the highly anticipated RPG.

Final Fantasy XV will be released on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on September 30.
