Through a Yoututbe video, Google demostrated how Android apps will run on Chromebook. Given that Android and Chromebook come from the same company, many experts are anticipating a smooth run.
But how smooth will the apps be running? Google has just enabled Android apps on Chromebook as revealed in the I/O Developer Conference, Ubergizmo reports. Amidst the positive expectations, many are still wondering if the two will work easily on the first try, given that Chromebook uses a cloud-based OS.
Engadget cautioned that the conditions shown in the video were the ideal ones. Real world experience for users might not be as smooth as it was in the presentation. Some factors like a lower-end Chromebook might give a different user experience.
Chromebook uses the Chrome OS, a cloud-based OS. Though most Chromebooks would be able to support Android apps, Greenbot says that there might be some Chromebook models that won't be able to support them. Buyers will have to know which models would be able to support Android apps.
Most who would want to have Android apps on Chromebook will have to wait though, as official support for them won't be coming to it until Fall. Greenbot suggests Google's ARC Welder's tool to test Android apps on Chromebook to get the feel of how they would be, though it says that the experience might not be at par with what has been shown on the video.
