The recently launched Lenovo's Phab 2 Pro smartphone has brought back the Google's Project Tango concept to life. The reports suggest that the new smartphone from Lenovo consist of Project Tango's exclusive sensors and cameras, which will enable the users to experience augmented reality on their smartphones.

NDTV reported that the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro smartphone consist of Project Tango's technology with 4 cameras. The device consists of 16 MP rear camera, a 8 MP front camera, a depth-sensing infrared camera with an imager and an emitter, along with a motion tracking camera.

Further, there are reports that these cameras will provide depth perception, motion tracking and area learning. The reports also suggest that the device can be used gesture tracking in virtual reality.

Besides, Android Authority reported that the Lenovo smartphone can also be used for the real-time indoor navigation function. It is reported that the Phab 2 Pro device will guide the customers with all the small locations inside any building, which generally other navigational systems are incapable of doing.

Moreover, the Vice president and GM of Android and Chrome Computing at Lenovo, Jeff Meredith, said that the Phab 2 Pro has been designed to provide improved user experience to all their customers by utilizing Project Tango's motion sensor technology.

Meanwhile, with all the specs of Phab 2 Pro trending on the internet, Indian Express reported that smartphone features a 6.4-inch screen with QHD IPS display. The device will also feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652processor with 4 GB RAM and a fingerprint sensor.

In addition, CNET reported that the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has an exceptional battery life of 15 hours with a 4050 mAh battery support. The smartphone features a Dolby Atmos audio technology with facility for recording 3D sound.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro smartphone based on Project Tango technology was announced at the Lenovo Tech Word 2016 event in San Francisco on Thursday. The device is slated to start shipping from online stores in August and will become globally available in September 2016 for $499.
