Samsung Galaxy Note 7 News: Leaked Event Details Hint At August Launch Date

Although recent rumors suggested that the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note will have an Unpacking event in August, nothing was known for sure. However, a recent leak image for the reported event invite revealed that the unveiling event will take place on Aug 2.

While Apple has been known to readying its iPhone 7 series, Samsung is also reportedly readying a new "7" series and has skipped the Galaxy Note 6 name.

This has been done in order to not confuse customers who might think that Note 6 is a generation behind the current Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, reported Tech Times.

Users recently had seen a teaser image, which confirmed that the latest phablet will feature a dual - curved edged display.

Now, an invite for the Unpacking Event of the device has been leaked. Sam Mobile received an image of what is reportedly an invite to a Samsung Unpacked event scheduled for "8/2/2016" and with the tagline, "The next edge is just around the corner."

In terms of the specifications, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 boasts of a 5.8 inch 2560 X 1440 Quad HD Super AMOLED Curved display, and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The phablet will also consist of Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 823 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 6 GB of RAM.

As for the camera, the phablet is rumored to have a 12-megapixel rear with Super Ol5 Plus and a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes with a storage option of 64 GB and 128 GB and includes a microSD expansion slot.

Rumors also suggest that this series of Samsung Note will include an advanced iris scanner, in addition to the onscreen fingerprint scanner, and will include IP 68 certified waterproofing features. The device boasts of a battery of 4000 mAh, and a Type - C USB port.

It seems that users will have to wait till August 2 to know if they will have an opportunity to check out the much-awaited phablet soon.
