Sony Xperia Z5 Stamina Mode Is Back, But At What Cost? Users Disappointed With New Mode Features
Dheeraj RLatest reports claimed that the Japan-based smartphone manufacturing company, Sony, recently brought back the Stamina mode for the Xperia Z5 models. This mode was reported to be scrapped due to one of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow applications called as Doze. Even though the much-loved Stamina mode is up and running on some devices, there are reports that the smartphone users are irked and disappointed with the company.
GMS Arena reported that the main reason behind removing the beloved Stamina mode from the Xperia Z5 models was mainly due the almost similar functionality provided by the Android Marshmellow's Doze application like limiting internet access and saving battery power.
There are reports that Sony has brought back the application again as many Xperia Z users were displeased for removing it in the first place. It is also stated that the company was prompted to bring back the Stamina mode because the smartphone users voted that the new Doze application lacked in many areas like less standby time and low battery life support.
However, Phone Arena reported that the new Stamina mode is not similar to its previous version for many reasons. It is stated that Sony has just opted to provide the Xperia Z5 users with limited options via the latest mode. The new Stamina mode is reported to lack in many areas like display brightness, animations, GPS, vibration feedback and background data restrictions.
Further, the latest reports on the Stamina mode suggests that it does not provide the whitelist options to the Xperia Z5 users. Also, the users cannot keep the mode on all the time in order to restrict different applications from excess power usage.
Meanwhile, XDA Developers reported that the previous Stamina mode on the Android Lollipop OS provided the Xperia Z5 users with two days of battery life with enhanced background features. It is reported that the mode also offered a whitelist options, with the help of which the users could sort out the apps they didn't want to be limited by the Stamina functionality like the chat apps, emails and more.
The new Stamina mode for Sony Xperia Z 5, Z5 Dual and Z5 Compact phones is reported to have been made available via a new software update with build number 32.2.A.0.224 compatible with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow system.
