"The Last of Us 2" fans left their anticipation behind as the rumored installment for the survival game was not in sight from the developers Naughty Dog during the E3 2016.

Initially, gamers were excited to hear about its release date information since developers revealed a possible hint to its events through an easter egg hidden in "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." In May, fans interpreted the brief feature from the item to be "The Last of Us 2" story, according to Parent Herald.

According to Movie Pilot's report in April, Creative Director Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog confirmed that the game was on works but will be launched once "Uncharted 4's" game play will be completed.

Furthermore, Druckmann mentioned that the company wanted to release a new and original storyline that is worth playing. It was reported that the developers said that there's a 50 percent chance of whether the game will be introduced or not, reported by Science World Report.

On the other hand, the hope is not lost as recent rumors suggested that the company will start developing the installment soon. As of recently, lead game designer Emilia Schartz of Naughty Dog announced a job offer for level designers through Twitter, according to The Bitbag.

Although Schartz and the company remained discreet as to what project will be worked on, fans are anticipating the possibility that the sequel will be produced.

Meanwhile in India, a PS4 bundle included a remastered version of "The Last of Us 2." It was reported that it comes for free if gamers purchase the 500GB console along with "God of War Remastered" and two Dual Shock 4 controllers.

As of the moment, fans of "Last of Us" have to wait for further announcement from Naughty Dog about its release date and game play details.
