Video game legend Hideo Kojima talked about how worried he was about "Death Stranding" getting leaked before this year's surprise announcement E3, he revealed on his recent video on HideoTube.

In the hour-long video, Kojima, along with "Death Stranding" writer and HideoTube co-host Kenji Yano, relived the tension pre-E3. Kojima knew that a lot of game titles are getting leaked before the highly anticipated trade show, and is afraid that "Death Stranding" will be the same.

"So every single year, there are leaks before E3," the "Metal Gear" creator said. "No matter how careful we are, in this era, something always makes its way to Internet."

In order to keep this information under wraps, Kojima only told five people at Sony about the game, keeping it an absolute secret.

"We absolutely didn't want this to be leaked," Kojima said.

Kojima even made sure that no one knows that he is in Los Angeles during the E3 week, even going as far as booking a hotel away from downtown so that no one will see him. He also politely declined some fans' requests to take a picture as he does not want Twitter fans to know where he is.

The game director's cover was almost blown, however, when he attended the "Neon Demon" premiere party, and the host unwittingly tweeted his presence.

Even Low Roar, the band responsible for the trailer's song "I'll Keep Coming," did not have any idea on where the song will be used, Kojima revealed. The band was also taken by surprise during the announcement.

Despite Kojima's vow not to appear in any interviews before E3, he finally agreed to appear in Geoff Keighley's show before the announcement. The game director even wore a DS t-shirt on the show, and fans, even Keighley himself, were none the wiser.

Kojima said during his keynote address at the Develop Conference that "Death Stranding" will be his best game yet, acording to Gamespot.

"I'm very confident that we're working towards something completely new and that no one has seen so far," Kojima declared. "This will be my best work so far, I'm very confident about that."
