Famitsu has released its latest "Most Wanted Games" chart, and the list features some of the Japanese gaming community's most anticipated titles.

The Japanese publication's fortnightly feature has brought out its latest list earlier this week, as reported by Nintendo Everything. The votes were cast between July 21 and July 27.

Despite having no recent updates or release date announcements, Square Enix's highly anticipated RPG "Kingdom Hearts 3" has not lost its charm with Japanese gamers. 

The latest "Kingdom Hearts" title is sitting on the number nine spot of the list, up from number 11.

Another Square Enix hit game, the much awaited remake of the classic RPG title "Final Fantasy VII", is also ranked highly on the list, placing number five on the chart.

Just like "Kingdom Hearts 3," no one knows when the game will be out, but that does not stop gamers from getting hyped about the upcoming remake.

Speaking of release dates, it looks like the top spot is occupied by a long-awaited game that will finally be released in September, "Final Fantasy XV." Gamers are giddily waiting for the game to launch, not just in Japan but in other countries as well.

Square Enix has not completely monopolized the list, however. There are other notable video games occupying the top ten slots, and most of them are RPG titles.

Atlus' Japanese RPG game "Persona 5" is sitting comfortably on the number 2 spot, just below "Final Fantasy XV." The latest title in the "Persona" series will be released in Japan next month, which explains the hype for the game.

Nintendo also has some games placed highly on the Famitsu chart, such as "Pokémon Sun and Moon" and its biggest upcoming title, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," coming in at number six and eight, respectively.
