'Destiny: Rise Of Iron' News: Nerfed Weapons And More Focused On Light Level

In the upcoming "Destiny: Rise of Iron," fans will embrace a nerfed Gjallarhorn. Raids will also depend on players' Light level.

The popular Gjallarhorn will be back in "Destiny: Rise of Iron," but players may need to lower their expectations because of how it will be nerfed according to the developers. As Gamerant pointed out, the weapon may alienate some players.

Gjallarhorn was the most powerful weapon for the first year that "Destiny" was around. Scott Taylor, "Rise of Iron" executive producer, pointed out that the weapon will be brought back to the latest expansion, but will be tuned appropriately.

As far as the core gameplay mechanic for DLC specific raids, "Destiny: Rise of Iron" will focus more on having players buff up their Light levels.

As Twinfinite reported, the game's raid called "Wrath of the Machine" will require players to bring their Light levels up in order to scale the challenge as it will be very crucial to acing the raid.

Below is the official statement from Gavin Irby as he talked about the things that players can expect from "Destiny: Rise of Iron" raids:

"We'll see. It's hard. It's largely a function of what your light level is versus the raid. King's Fall has this property of where even if you're over-leveling the mechanics don't get easier so it still maintains this high difficulty, which at the time we felt was a virtue because people specifically wanted it and had been asking for it, and I think maybe now the community might be ready for something a little different that they can actually overlevel and get some mastery over."

Some publications and even fans are skeptical about Light level being a factor for success on raids, but we'll probably see how all these will fair once "Destiny: Rise of Iron" is released this coming September 20.
