Amidst release date rumors that Apple might announce the next installment of MacBook Air in March 2017, few reports claimed that the device might be revamped with many new features like Apple Pencil, Retina display, USB-C port, and much more in store. Below, we have round up the rumored specs of the new MacBook Air, which will give you an idea as to what should you expect from the device.
Mac World reported that the MacBook Air 2017 might sport an Apple-Pencil enabled trackpad, which will provide the users with different modes of operating the stylus like the air mouse mode, a joystick mode, a rotational controller mode, and other inertial sensor input modes.
Besides, few reports suggested that the MacBook Air models will include Touch ID functionality within its Trackpad along with the Force Touch upgrade. The Touch ID feature is expected to provide the users with enhanced security measures while using Apple Pay.
Furthermore, reports claimed that the new MacBook Air will sport a 15-inch screen along with Retina display. It is also expected that the new Air device will be sleeker and lighter as compared to its predecessors.
The Apple device is rumored to sport new cooling modules for excellent device performance. It will also consist of the USB Type-C interface with an integrated Thunderbolt 3 port for faster charging and data transfers. Last but not the least, the new MacBook Air 2017 device is expected to be priced for above $1200.
Meanwhile, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino-based technology giant might launch a 13-inch MacBook alongside the 12-inch MacBook Pro, reported 9 to 5 MAC. This hinted that Apple is planning to discontinue the MacBook Air series.
However, there is no official update from the company representatives. So, all the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
