iPhone 7 Tricks, Guide: How To Take Advantage Of Home Button, Camera, Other Features

Apple's iPhone 7 got its fair share of "likes and dislikes," but there's no doubt that the good in it still outshines the bad, particularly the missing earphones jack. Here are some tricks and tips that make the experience of owning an iPhone 7 well worth it.

Revamped Home Button For Better Durability

Unlike the previous models, the iPhone 7 now has a capacitive Home Button. Compared to the older Home Button from the previous versions, this is more durable and it actually indicates contact with a subtle vibration when pressed.

This can also be customized to whichever function the user wishes to. Be that launch another menu or spring back to the home screen.

Quick Camera Access Without Unlocking

There's a new feature with the iPhone 7 that will let users take snaps as quickly as possible, even with the phone in a locked state.

With iOS 10 on the iPhone 7, a specified camera app can be launched by swiping right on the lockscreen. This automatically launches the camera, eliminating the need to look for the icon and launch it separately.

This doesn't unlock the device, however, and the photos are still private unless properly unlocked.

Water Proofing vs Water Resistance

Even if the iPhone 7 has better protection with water proofing instead of merely water resistance, this is not to say that the iPhone 7 can be submerged into water on increased duration as if it was a water-proofed watch for scuba divers.

The iPhone 7 indicates these varying level of risks to the device. Thanks to the moisture detection feature that shows the level of how the interior of the device is still wet at some point. Disconnecting the lightning port would be highly advised if this would be the case and wait till it dries completely.

Disabling The Automatic Wake Up When Device is Lifted

While this new feature is neat, having it enabled might be more trouble than actually of help. Disabling the auto wake up when the device is picked up might be beneficial for those who move around quite a bit than normal.

This prevents accidental unlocking, dialing and even launching of apps when the device is really just inside a pocket, especially spacious ones.
