'Pokémon GO' Update: Pokémesh Is Still Your Best Pokévision Alternative On Android, Even On Rooted Devices
J RoseEver since the demise of the popular tracking app Pokévision, plus the seemingly broken in-game tracking system, "Pokémon GO" players everywhere have been left struggling to find mons more effectively.
The good news is there is still one good alternative to Pokévision. Pokémesh, a real-time "Pokémon GO" map for Android, can be considered one of the best tracking app out there at the moment.
Pokémesh gives you a near accurate scan of where you can find Pokémon in your area. The app also points you to the nearest Pokéstop and Gyms around the selected area.
The app also has a Rarity Filter feature, allowing you to control which Pokémon to see, from very common up to legendary.
The Pokémesh developers are also very active in terms of updating the app everytime an update is announced, such as when Niantic Labs started a banning spree on all detected accounts.
"I've just [completed] a patch that will prevent this (still not sure it will 100 percent works) and I'm working with the devs of other apps to reach the score," the Pokémesh developers said on the app's Facebook page.
The Pokémesh developers has also survived the most recent update, which barred rooted and jailbroken devices from accessing "Pokémon GO." The devs found a workaround for rooted devices, and has even updated the Pokémesh app to include multiscan and other features.
According to their FAQ's however, using Pokémesh does not guarantee that your account will not be banned, although the devs say that the chances are "very low". The devs still recommend using a dummy account to access Pokémesh to avoid the ban hammer.
Unfortunately for Apple users, Pokémesh has no plans expanding to iOS anytime soon.
You can download the Pokémesh app on the official website. The site also has additional tools for "Pokémon GO" like the Evolution CP Calculator, which you can find on this link. You can follow the devs on both Facebook and Twitter for updates.
