'Pokémon GO' Guide: How Bypass Jailbreak Detection

C. de Lacy

Niantic is getting more and more strict with players finding ways to cheat and hack "Pokémon GO" and the latest step the company took was to block devices that are jailbroken or rooted. Good thing that there are ways to counter this.

Despite the recent updates that Niantic pushed to the latest version of "Pokémon GO," there are still ways to go around this to keep cheating the game as anybody pleases and for those who don't really cheat, but need to keep their devices jailbroken.

For those who have updated their "Pokémon GO" to the latest version should be already aware that if their devices are jailbroken, chances are, they've already seen how the game crashes after it detects the hack. This can be simply bypassed by going the following steps;

Step 1: Go back to the Springboard and launch "Cydia."

Step 2: Tap the "Edit" button and add the following URL in the repositories: https://beta.unlimapps.com/

Step 3: Once this repo has been added, simply tap "Return to Cydia" and search for "xCon for Pokémon GO."

Step 4: Once installed, the app "Pokémon GO" can now be launched on the jailbroken device.

This has been tested on the latest version of iOS 10 installed on iPhones and iPad.

As of the moment, this is the only working method for bypassing the Jailbroken status detection for the iOS device users.

For Android users, the only working method at the time of writing this is "Magisk," which we've also covered and provided an easy to follow step by step guide on how to setup.

As with every single guide that can be found on the internet, especially those who are using the jailbreak features of iPhones and iPads for hacking "Pokémon GO," moderation in usage should be observed as it will pose a threat of perma ban if abused.
