To start with, the Apple Watch 2 sports a sleek and stylish design compared to its predecessor. The new Apple smartwatch consists of a square screen and a heart rate sensor on the back panel.  =In contrast, the Smartwatch 3 features a rectangular chassis with uneven edges.

The Sony wearable also sports a heart rate monitor at the back panel and features a microUSB cable which will allow you to charge anywhere. On the other hand, the Moto 360 consists of a damage-resistant glass, which can withstand high levels of force. Also, it is slimmer and lighter as compared to its earlier installment.

As far as the displays are concerned, the Apple smartwatch features an AMOLED display panel along with 272x340 pixels resolution. The Sony gadget consists of a Trans-reflective LCD display with 320x320 pixels resolution. The Motorola wearable, on the other hand, consists of an LCD display panel along with 320 x 290 pixels resolution.

In terms of performance, the Apple Watch 2 is powered with a second-gen dual-core S2 chipset, which is touted to be 50 percent faster than that of its predecessor. The Moto 360 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the Sony wearable features the quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU along with 512 MB RAM and storage capacity of 4 GB.

Furthermore, the Apple Watch is compatible with iPhones having iOS 8 or higher, which can be narrowed down to iPhone 5 or above Apple devices. Both the Sony Smartwatch 3 and the Moto 360 are compatible with the Android devices running 4.3 OS or above.

One of the main differentiating factors of the wearables is their price. The Apple Watch 2 is a high-end smartwatch with a price tag of $480, $520, and $1620 for the different variants based on the diameter and specs. The Sony Smartwatch 3 is available at $130 for the basic model and $250 for the leather variant. On the other hand, the Moto 360 has been priced around $325.

To sum up, it can be stated that the latest Apple Watch Series 2 provides excellent specs and features, but if you are looking out for more pocket-friendly smartwatch, then you can opt for the Sony Smartwatch 3 and the Moto 360 wearables.
