China has adopted its own way of dealing with the latest and hottest technology. For Apple, Chinese market matters a lot. Chinese people are simply crazy about iPhone and every Chinese wish to buy one, even if they cannot afford it. Recently, it was reported that a teenager had sold his kidney in exchange of an iPhone. The tale tells that how popular iPhone is among Chinese people. And, in case you too cannot afford a real iPhone, 'iPhnce' and 'iPneno' are great options to choose from. These knockoffs also carry an Apple logo on them.
The "fake" iPhones have great demand in China. The counterfeit technology looks identical to the genuine product at a quick glance. Of course, these phones do not run iOS. But these fake products give a feel of one with customized overlay that is made to resemble the original user interface.
Folks at LA Times have discovered more funny things about electronic piracy and fake products in the Chinese market. Walking up in Shanghai streets, more hilarious named alternatives of popular tech companies were discovered. Motorola counterfeits are called Motoralo, Samsung is called Smusvng and Nokia is known as Nioka.
Moreover, Ciri smart voice TV, inspired from Siri - the virtual assistant in iPhone 4S, has been developed by a Chinese firm - Changhong. Siri transforms iPhone into a talking assistant to control functioning of the smartphone. On the other hand, Ciri mutates TV into a talking TV. Changhong is originally an electronics and smartphones manufacturer in China.
China is a hotbed for counterfeit electronics goods and boasts of a booming pirated software market and sometimes, a "fake" iPhone that looks identical to the original iPhone with the same form factor, sells for as much as 2,000 yuan ($330). So, if you don't want to dig deep into your pocket, you know where to get a cheap knock-off.
