With no iMac-related announcements this year, many Apple fans are left disappointed.

MacWorld reported of a slip-up from US retailer Best Buy showing a Kaby Lake powered iMac listed for sale. It is possible that the iMacs might see a refresh soon, perhaps in the first quarter of 2017. It also raises hopes of seeing the Intel-based CPUs under the hood of the new iMacs.

There is a possibility of seeing certain iMac models to be powered by Polaris set of AMDs as seen in the case of the latest MacBook Pros.

Another anticipated feature in the upcoming iMacs is the VR capability. With all major brands looking to enhance and compete with the VR capabilities, Apple too could be in the race. According to Tech Radar, With Polaris 10 and 11 capable of providing a decent VR experience, there could be something exciting in coming days for Apple fans.

Polaris graphic chips can offer faster speeds with lower power consumptions compared with many available graphics chips in the market. These features should help in raising the resolution especially when it comes to gaming.

Apart from the graphic improvements, the fusion drives might be seen as the default storage for the new iMacs .It is highly possible that flash storage can become the next storage standard starting from the iMac 2016.Flash storage can improve read and write speeds.

Other expected features in new IMacs include Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1.

The iMac lineup has been one of the popular products from Apple. A refresh seems to be imminent as many would love to see some of the best and innovative technology marvels under the iMac's armour. Stay tuned for more updates.
