'Pokémon Sun and Moon' News: Red And Blue Might Get A Remake After The Franchise's Success

Just a few more days before the two new versions of "Pokémon Sun and Moon" are officially released, talk about more remakes are starting to grow, and the original Red and Blue titles seem to be the most in demand.

As reported by Oliver Cragg of Internetnational Business Times, the man behind one of the biggest videogame franchise we all know as "Pokémon" just teased that there would be more classic remakes once "Pokémon Sun and Moon" have been released.

This is to follow the previous re-release of the Ruby and Sapphire versions in the forms of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Junichi Masuda, the producer of the franchise, commented on the future remakes and their possibilities in a recent interview with IGN.

However, since the existence of virtual consoles, a complete port of the same exact game versions of "Pokémon Red" and "Pokémon Blue" is still possible. A complete recycle from scratch has a 50 percent chance of happening with this fact.

Masuda told IGN that remakes like "Pokémon FireRed" and "Pokémon LeafGreen" and their approach to it could be very much the same approach that they might do with the future remakes. The Virtual Console is convenient enough to port captured pokémon from the classic Red and Blue versions to the more recent versions of the game so this isn't all that hard to pull off as he emphasized.

At the moment, "Pokémon Red and Blue" are Virtual Console's best-sellers in the 3DS digital store, but Masuda remarked that there's no current plan on bringing "Pokémon Gold and Silver" just yet. The next best thing that could be brought a new life are "Pokémon Diamond and Pearl."

Stay tuned for more "Pokémon" news and updates.
