The hype about Square Enix's highly anticipated title "Kingdom Hearts 3" is still going strong, as fans debate over whether or not a "Heartless" version of "Big Hero 6"'s lovable character Baymax will be making an appearance in the game.

This rumor has stemmed from this particular concept art posted by Slashfilm, said to be from producer Shinji Hashimoto, according to Inverse. On the concept art, Sora and the original Baymax is shown squaring off against a black armored Baymax.

This rumor was reported by iDigitalTimes to be unconfirmed, stating that the concept art may have nothing to do with the actual game.

But what fans forgot about this supposed rumor is that it's no longer a rumor in the first place. "Kingdom Hearts" series director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed this himself, during one of his many interviews.

The "Kingdom Hearts" director told Famitsu last year that an evil Baymax or a "black" Baymax will be making his appearance in the game.

Here is the translated version, as translated by KH Insider's resident translator, Zephyr.

Famitsu: To summarize, Baymax and Sora confronts the other Baymax the Heartless have taken over?

Nomura: That's right. It takes place after the movie version. Yasue (Co-director Tai Yasue) was eager in saying "I really want to do it!" Because I also like this title, please enjoy and anticipate it when it finishes.

For confirmation, we found another interpretation, this time from The Kingdom Hearts Info Block.

Famitsu: To summarize, there's a Baymax dyed black by the Heartless's grasp, and Baymax & Sora charge in to confront them.

Nomura: That's right. It's after the story of the movie. A black Baymax came from Yasue (Co.Director Mr. Tai Yasue) passionately claiming, "I definitely want to do this!" It was a work I also liked myself, so please wait to enjoy it when it's completed.

Note that this interview is over a year old, but unless the "Heartless Baymax" is suddenly scrapped out of "Kingdom Hearts 3" for some strange reason, we can still take this as a 100 percent confirmation from the man himself.
