'The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Release Date Delayed? Retailer Indicates June Launch
J RoseFans may have to wait a bit more for 2017's highly anticipated game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," according to a few online retailers.
Retailer giant Target has a listing of the Wii U version of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on its site, and it says on the page that the game will be out for release on Jun. 13, according to IGN.
However, another retailer, GameStop, has suggested that the game will be released before April. According to its recent earnings report, the title is said to come out on the first quarter of 2017, Gamespot reported.
This means that the title will most likely come out on the same release date window as other highly anticipated releases like "Mass Effect Andromeda," "Injustice 2," and the Western movie adaptation of "Ghost in the Shell."
While Nintendo has not revealed an exact release date for "Breath of the Wild," most have speculated that the much awaited "Zelda" title will be launched alongside the game company giant's new console, the Nintendo Switch.
However, there were rumors that the next "Zelda" title would not be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch after all.
Nintendo tipster Emily Rogers, also known as arcadegirl64, reported that the game will not be released in March due to the huge amount of localization the team had to do. Some sources told her that the game has become bigger and more "ambitious" than anyone of them had ever anticipated.
The tipster also said that the Nintendo Switch version of the game runs smoothly compared to the Wii U version, which may be the reason why the date on the Target site indicates a June release for it.
Nintendo struck gold with its upcoming game, as it bagged tons of awards even before its 2017 release date.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was crowned the best game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year, according to Digital Trends, despite being Nintendo's only main game at the convention.
Nintendo's showcase title also gained a lot of mentions on various social media sites like Twitter and Facebook during this year's E3, making it the most talked about game of the entire conference, VG 24/7 reported.
Despite not showing anything groundbreaking from last E3, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" still bagged the top spot at Gamescom.
