Park Bo Gum rose to fame with his diverse range of roles in television dramas. He was more known especially on the other parts of the world with his recently concluded historical romance drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds". Now, the actor shared how he is thankful for being popular, however, he also shared that there are negative things about it.
On November 24, Elle Korea magazine unveiled a photo of the 23-year-old actor in Los Angeles for the magazine's official homepage. Along with it, the actor sat down for an interview.
"I recently went to the LACMA Art+Film Gala. It was an honor to be there with my seniors, who were representing Korea. I'd heard that Leonardo DiCaprio was jointly hosting the event," the actor said. "I saw him, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jaden Smith, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in person. It felt like watching a movie to see so many Hollywood actors in front of my eyes."
When asked about his meteoric rise to fame and his fans, the actor was noted to express some regrets.
"I was surprised to see so many people gather during the Gyeongbukgung fan signing and in the Philippines during our vacation. Before I could meet and greet all my fans one by one, but now it's hard to remember all of their names," Park Bo Gum shared. "And my actions can sometimes cause misunderstandings. If I bow to one side, I've heard people from the other side ask why I didn't bow there. Because my sincerity might get distorted, I've had a lot of complicated thoughts recently."
Moreover, he said there are more things in which he considered a negative thing about being popular.
"I can't take the subway anymore," he said. "I think I can still take the bus, though. It's a double-edged sword because I'm grateful that people recognize and support me, but there are definite downsides to that."
Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum is currently preparing for an upcoming fan meeting in Seoul. Blossom Entertainment said the date of the fan event will be announced soon on its official Facebook page.
Moreover, according to his agency, Park Bo Gum will be visiting Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Taipei, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, and Seoul to spend time with his loving fans. The label also stated that the fan meeting tour will likely be extended to additional cities in China.
