A new gameplay trailer has been released for the Playstation 4 exclusive action role playing game "Gravity Rush 2," which also features a glimpse of its upcoming animated feature.

Sony Entertainment Japan and Japan Studio streamed a new video for the upcoming video game. The game, known as "Gravity Daze 2" in Japan, will be released in January, and the publisher is looking to ramp up its marketing efforts for the promising title.

The new trailer showcased some of "Gravity Rush 2"'s features, and gave users a taste of what to expect from the game, according to Siliconera. The six-minute clip featured some of the game's missions, as well as its fast paced gameplay mechanics and the game's mining mode.

The clip also gave fans a sneak peek of "Gravity Rush 2"'s prequel animation titled "Gravity Rush the Animation ~ Overture ~." The CG animation is said to connect the two "Gravity Rush" titles, according to Niche Gamer.

The "special animation" will be spearheaded by no other than Studio Khara, a Japanese animation studio best known for the "Evangelion" reboot. The animation will be available on Blu-Ray and will be released along with first-run limited editions of the game in Japan.

"Gravity Rush 2" is an upcoming game developed by SIE Japan Studio and Project Siren, and was first revealed as "Team Gravity Project" at Tokyo Game Show 2013 in September.

Two years later, it was unveiled as "Gravity Rush 2," and was announced to be in development for the Playstation 4. The first "Gravity Rush" game, released on the Playstation Vita in 2012, was met with generally positive reviews, and has earned cult status among fans. The game currently has an 83 rating on review site Metacritic.

The game was previously slated for a Dec.2 release in North America and the UK, a Dec. 1 release in Japan, and a Nov. 30 release in Europe. The publisher delayed the release of the game, but will release a previously planned premium DLC "Gravity Rush 2 Another Story: The Ark of Time -- Raven's Choice" as a way of compensation for free in March, Anime News Network reported.

"Gravity Rush 2" is set to be released on Playstation 4 on Jan. 19 in Japan, Jan. 20 in North America and the UK, and Jan. 18 in Australia and other European territories.
