Niantic Says Pokemon Go for Apple Watch is "Coming Soon" Following Cancellation Hoax

Last September, Niantic revealed that the trendy mobile game Pokémon Go will be coming to Apple Watch before this year ends.

Pokémon Go, which released last July, has been played across different countries in the world. It has been a trend for almost every smartphones to have this game installed - and, indeed what a craze to see players on parks, playground, bus stations and even universities going on for a Poke stop to catch 'em all!

With its unstoppable popularity going on a global scale, Pokémon Go has reached its downfall - that fast, though.

From an update on International Business Times, Niantic has said to be producing a companion app of Pokémon Go that will be shipped at the end of 2016.  However, it was reported that Niantic put on hold the app's development for Apple Watch so this supposed release would not likely be as promised.

On an email circulating on Reddit regarding the making of this Niantic app, it was said that the "port for the Apple Watch has been shelved." According to MacWorld, Niantic confirmed that the post is not true.

Regarding the current update of the app, Niantic has posted on their official Pokémon Go Twitter that the product is coming soon. As to the specific date of release, it was still left hanging by the developer.

The Pokémon Go on Apple Watch features - the tracking of eggs that are hatched, the watch app wherein you could see your XP and trainer level and also tracks your walking distance and the calories you've burnt, you could track your Pokémon and all your achievements, and also use Poké Stops.

As for now, players can have the limited-edition - Pikachu on Santa-hat until December 29 on their smartphones.
