'Gotham' Season 3: New Photo Suggests Jerome's Return Might Bring The 'New 52' Joker
Cores Grace MalaayFans of "Gotham" have been speculating ideas and guessing who would be the Joker, which is the focal point at this time. A lot of fans believe that the leading candidate is a young lad named Jerome Valeska, who is played by actor Cameron Monaghan.
According to Movie Pilot, Monaghan posted a photo on his official Instagram account on Dec. 22 showing a small portion of Jerome's face with red marks, which appears that he had his face taken off much as what the new 52-era Joker did. Colm Feore's Dollmaker might also head back as this is the same character who removed The Joker's face in the comic books.
Additionally, the "New 52" Joker's regenerative skills could also come into play somehow and might provide some light for Jerome's comeback. Howbeit, Monaghan might also be joking in his latest Instagram post but either way, the return of "Gotham" in 2017 is worth the wait.
The midseason finale of "Gotham" ended with a preview assuring that Jerome is coming back, which could be the reason why Monaghan is trying to tease the fans with photo he posted. The photo didn't actually reveal much of Jerome's corpse making fans more curious about it, according to Comic Book.
The top portion of Jerome's head is shown where his short, ginger hair is revealed and his eyes are closed although it doesn't mean that he's dead. The medical practitioner's expression also appears to be twisted as she's trying to keep her gaze away from him while taking the white drape off from Jerome's stiff body.
Blood stains are also shown being smeared in the sheet's edges. Monaghan also dropped a teaser on Twitter earlier this month showing himself as Jerome wearing one of the Joker's costumes. He is pictured with his maniacal smile with his face filled with white foundation.
Jerome died at the end of "Gotham" season one but executive producer John Stephens said that fans would be able to see more of Jerome. "You'll have these underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented and how he's going to come back like in the days of John the Baptist," Stephens said.
