‘Attack on Titan’ Season 2: Beast and Ymir Titans Introduced in New Promo Video; Breach on Wall Rose Means Humanity’s Last Stand
Kaye ReeseThe two-year drought is finally over as the new "Attack on Titan" Season 2 trailer finally dropped in time for Christmas. But the new promo video is far from festive as it revealed that there's been a breach in Wall Rose, and new titans terrorizing the city as the Survey Corps desperately try to make a last stand for humanity.
All hope is not lost, however. Not all titans are evil, as with the case of protagonist Eren Yeager, who can turn into a titan at will. But will he and his team successfully ward off the titans in defense of the people in "Attack on Titan" Season 2?
Spoilers for 'Attack on Titan' Season 2
The new trailer revealed several things about the highly anticipated installment to the Funimation saga. For one, the breach in the Wall Rose, which protects the citizens of Chlorba District, the Karanese District and the Trost District, means an action-packed season as the Survey Corps desperately try to defeat the incoming monsters, according to Polygon.
"Attack on Titan" Season 2 will also see beloved characters Mikasa and Armin, fellow Survey Corps members, return to combat as they fight for the wall, Inverse reported. But their efforts are thwarted by Armored and Colossus titans, joined by new and powerful titans based from the manga, "Shingeki No Kyojin."
New titans: Who are they?
The new titans on "Attack on Titan" Season 2 may look alien, but they're actually familiar to manga readers. One of them is the Beast titan, who, according to Comicbook, is an intelligent titan who can communicate with humans. It also has a connection with fellow titan Eren. The other one is an Ymir titan, which has a tragic backstory.
Both of these titans have the potential to be good titans who help rather than destroy civilization in "Attack on Titan" Season 2. Stay tuned for more details and updates on the Funimation anime.
