Continuity is Apple's group of six features available in the most recent versions of iOS and MacOS. This provides extra convenience for users in a variety of scenarios. Here are the tips and steps on how to use Continuity in iOS and MacOS.

Auto Unlock and Universal Clipboard are two of the latest features included in the Continuity. When Auto Unlock is switched on, you can wake your Mac as it checks for your Apple Watch nearby and automatically unlocks the Watch. On the other hand, Universal Clipboard distinguishes that you are using more than one of your devices all at the same time. Its resolve is to allow you to copy and paste images or video and text from one device to another by using the Clipboard.

Setting up Auto Unlock

To do this, make sure that your Wi-Fi and Mac's Bluetooth are on and your Mac and Watch are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. Go to the Apple Menu, then System Prefs, then iCloud on your Mac, and the Watch app, next go to General, and finally, Apple ID on your phone. If you have not, you may set up a passcode by going to Watch app, then Passcode on your iPhone.

From the Apple Menu, go to System Prefs, then to Security and Privacy on your Mac. From there, enable Allow your Apple Watch to unlock and hold on until the feature activates.

Setting up Handoff

To set up Handoff, turn on your Mac's Wi-Fi even if it is only using Ethernet for networking. On your Mac, go to Apple Menu, then System Prefs, then to General and switch on Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.

To enable it on iOS go to Settings, then General, and then Handoff. Click the Dock icon left of Finder's to move a task from iOS to Mac. Another way to do this is to swipe up icon on the lock screen or just double click Home and click the banner, says Techradar.

Setting up Instant Hotspot

On your iPhone, head to Settings, Mobile Data and switch the Personal Hotspot feature on. Choose the name of your iPhone from the Wi-Fi icon on your Mac. Tap your iPhone's name on another iOS device and go to Settings, Wi-Fi.

After that, set up Phone calls on all devices by first signing in to FaceTime on each device using the Apple ID you use for iCloud. Make sure your iPhone and other devices are on the same network. Then go to Settings, Phone, Calls on Other Devices on the iPhone, and switch 'Allow Calls on...'

Next, to select devices for calls, choose the devices on which to make and receive calls. Switch on Calls From iPhone in preference section of FaceTime on your Mac, and in Settings, go to FaceTime on other iOS devices.

Incoming calls will display as a call screen on iOS and a notification on a Mac. For SMS and MMS everywhere, your iMessage account in Messages' prefs for Mac and Apple ID in Settings, Messages then Send & Receive for iOS must be the same. In iPhone's Settings, go to Messages, then Text Message Forwarding then enable devices after the enter the code received.
