Samsung Wireless Earphones Plan To Compete With Apple's Airpods
Gloven RamosAfter Apple introduced their wireless earphone, the AirPod, Samsung is now reportedly following the wireless trend as they launch their Samsung Wireless Earphone this January.
According to reports, the company plans to introduce its version of the AirPods with their new Samsung wireless earphone. This earphone is expected to launch at CES 2017 alongside the Samsung Galaxy S8.
It was only a few months ago when the controversial decision by Apple to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus suprised smartphone afficionados. But this move created a major impact on the technology industry and pushed Samsung to copy the bold move.
It is still unsure if Samsung will drop the 3.5mm headphone jack. Based on the Cultofmac report, the company seems unlikely to remove the headphone jack, but they will still push the wireless earphone as they become popular.
Apple is not the only manufacturer who removed the headphone jack on their flagship smartphones. This year, Motorola and LeEco also did the same for some of their devices. Critics and fans are already exhausted criticizing this trend so the Samsung wireless earphone may flow placidly unlike when the Apple introduce the AirPods.
Sam Mobile published an exclusive report saying that they received information that a Samsung wireless earphone will be launched along with the Galaxy 8. However, there's still no confirmation if the earphone would be bundled along the handset or sold separately. It is also not clear whether the earphones will have Harman audio features, as Samsung bought the company for $8 billion a month ago.
Since Apple removed the headphone jack on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, it boosted the adaptation of wireless earphone. This may be one reason why AirPods still sell pretty good despite negative reviews.
While wireless earphones are an interesting concept, it remains to be seen how Samsung fans will receive the smartphone accessory. Are you looking forward to Samsung's wireless earphones? Tell us in the comments below!
