Rumors about a special Galaxy S3 variant with quad-core processor and LTE connectivity have been around for a while. Adding fuel to the rumors, the latest reports hitting the blogosphere today, indicate that one such variant is in Samsung’s plans, which can debut in Korean market as soon as July.

Citing Samsung spokesperson, The Verge reported on Sunday that the Korean tech giant is gearing up to launch a special variant of Galaxy S3 at its home ground. The new variant packs the best features of the two variant of Galaxy S3 that already exist in the market.

International version of Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts quad-core Exynos processor, while the 4G LTE variant of Galaxy S3 comes with dual-core processor but with 2GB of RAM. The new variant packs quad-core Exynos processor with 2GB of RAM as well as support for LTE networks. Sweet.

In the U.S. version of Galaxy S3, LTE radios come integrated on Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 processor chip. However, in the new variant, both the chips are located separately, which results in added 0.4mm thickness to the chassis. It also comes with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) that the three Korean network providers will be offering later this year.

Samsung has launched the international variant of Galaxy S3 in Korea, while the LTE-powered quad-core version is scheduled to debut in July. The HSPA+ Korea variant is also slightly different from the international version of Samsung Galaxy S3. It packs an additional antenna for DMB TV broadcasting and a new Video Hub app.

As we reported ealier this month, the new variant is unlikely to launch in U.S. or other markets. In case you want to grab the device, the only solution is to fly to Korea or get in touch with your long-lost Korean friend. However, if you're willing to wait, you may find some some eBay and Amazon retailers offering it for sale.
