Although it might have appeared that HTC was completely defeated with the release of Samsung's Galaxy S3, it now seems like they have a second card up its sleeve. There are many rumors about HTC releasing a new model, the HTC One XXL, which is meant to tear down the market for Samsung and its flagship Galaxy S3.
The rumors about the HTC One XXL reveal that it will come with a very particular set of features. These include a 4.7-inch, 720p display, a quad-core Qualcomm S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.8-megapixel front-facing camera. Some reports said that the new HTC super phone could boast of a screen size of even 5.5 inches, leaving the Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.8-inch screen) way behind in terms of display (dwarfing even Galaxy Note, which has a screen size of 5.3 inches). However, it is the quad-core Qualcomm S4 chip and the 2GB of RAM that could turn this device into a real dream for customers and definitely a nightmare for its competitors, like Samsung.
If the rumors are true, this new smartphone will come prepared to dominate the market immediately. Some fairly reliable sources add that the HTC One XXL could be the pioneer of the usage of 802.11 ac wireless technology. However, it is hard to judge whether this specific rumor is true, because there is only an "a/b/g/n" feature in the leaked image found from the phone.
Now that the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been just released and will be looking to rake in sales, now is the perfect time for HTC to gatecrash the party and introduce a formidable device like the HTC One XXL.
Will the HTC One XXL steal the thunder from Samsung, or is this just another rumor? Only time will tell.
