Nintendo Classic Mini Update, ‘Pokemon GO’ Christmas Event & 3DS Freeshop Piracy Concerns Discussed
Ritwik RoyNintendo fans are frustrated with the limited availability of the Nintendo Classic Mini stock. Supply issues were always there but now it has reached a point where they are confronted with massively inflated prices on online marketplaces. Naturally, Nintendo is in a fix as it didn't expect such massive demand. Moreover, if Nintendo intentionally created the hype, it needs to solve the problem right away.
According to Express.co.uk, the latest Nintendo Classic Mini stock update came from a New York Nintendo store on Sunday though all wristbands for the NES Classic Edition sales were distributed within two hours. In November 2016, Nintendo confirmed that more NES Classic Edition consoles would arrive by the end of 2016 and that there would be a steady flow of additional systems throughout the holiday season right into New Year.
The "Pokemon GO" Christmas event has entered its second stage and fans can expect a new batch of bonuses. Starting Jan. 8, first partner Pokemon introduced in the Kanto region will likely to be discovered. This includes Blastoise, Wartortle, Squirtle, Charizard, Charmeleon, Charmander, Venusaur, Ivysaur and Bulbasaur. In order to make catching these Pokemon easier, Niantic has doubled the time for Lure modules, lasting 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo 3DS freeshop software has been hit with piracy concerns. The tool is used to download 3DS games that a player already owns though users also use it to download entire 3DS games free of cost and this is where piracy issues creep in. It has received a DMCA notice and can longer be downloaded from Github.
However, the Github Freeshop page creator, TheCruel, has expressed his frustration over the ban. He said that if people illegally obtain passwords and PINs of a person's bank account, the banking website cannot be criticized for facilitating theft.
